Iransk Kvinnliga PoliserDN; Kvinnor patrullerar gatorna i irakiska Kurdistan

"DN I IRAK. Uppmärksamheten är stor när de första kvinnliga poliserna nu börjar patrullera på gatorna i norra Irak - ett samhälle där kvinnorna hittills varit osynliga i det offentliga livet.

Det vi bevittnar är ett för den islamiska världen ovanligt, för att inte säga unikt, fenomen. Sedan några år utexamineras kvinnliga poliser på polisakademin i Erbil."

Hmm?!, gör dom inte research på DN eller åtminstone läser BBC eller Time?

Out of Control

'Many in the US military think Bush and Cheney are out of control' Gabriel Kolko interviewed by John Goetz

"Many in the US military think Bush and Cheney are out of control. They are rebelling against Bush and Cheney. Washington Post reporter Dana Priest recently said in an interview that she believed the US military would revolt and refuse to fly missions against Iran if the White House issued such orders.
CENTCOM [US Central Command, the military grouping whose responsibilities include the Middle East] commander Admiral William Fallon reportedly thwarted Cheney's wish to sent a third additional aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf. One paper wrote that he "vowed privately there would be no war against Iran as long as he was chief of CENTCOM."

Iran's Oil Bourse

The Iran Oil Bourse (IOB) is opening soon according to Press TV and even if its not as big media coverage of it as the nuclear program some people feel that it is a major threat towards the dominance of the petrodollar ;

"...according to some experts such a move could lead to a huge drop in value for the American currency, potentially putting the U.S. economy in its greatest crisis since the depression era of the 1930s."

"The oil bourse would transact petroleum, petrochemicals and gas in various non-dollar currencies, primarily the euro. It would also establish a euro-based pricing mechanism for oil trading, or oil marker as it is called by traders."

Petroeuro is the same thing that made Saddam Hussein a very disliked dictator in Washington;

"In September 2000 Iraq began selling all oil exports in euros. The euro then increased in value which added much profitability to European operations. The US invaded and shortly thereafter (four months to be exact) reverted all Iraqi oil trades back to the US dollar as well as nullifying previous foreign contracts."

So the brief love between the US and Iran in 2001 against the talibans is long gone I presume ...

Iran has also brought some interest from Lundin Mining who recently ran into trouble;
"An arm of the Iranian government has said it wants to cancel agreements relating to the Mehdiabad zinc project with Union Resources Ltd. of Australia, Union's 19.9 per cent owner Lundin Mining Corp. said Friday."

...but probably not as much trouble as when Hugo Chavez stole 1 billion kronor from our foreign ministers Lundin Petroleum, nationalizing the oil.

Socialists and Islamofascists are a bitch ..

Bush is Good!

In his 2007 state of the union speech he made it clear how important american support of freedom and democracy in the middle east is for combatting muslim sharia dictatorships and terrorism and how the US support of democracy has made the world a safer place.

"Free people are not drawn to violent and malignant ideologies" he said and it is so true, liberal free democracies like the US and Israel are on the forefront of spreading peace and liberty in the arabworld.

He stressed how important US collaboration with peaceful democracies like China is to make the Korean peninsula nuclear arms free just as the US support of UN resolutions against Iran will make sure the middle east also remains free from dangerous nuclear arms that could start a cold war style armsrace in the region.

Bush competent leadership and crusade for world peace, human rights and civil liberties is a model for swedish politicians and would no doubt restore swedens former glory and international reputation if more emulated by swedish politicians.

The Bush administrations close relationship to big business also shows that even if the national state as such is an evil whos influence should be kept at a minimum it can effectively be tamed and led in the right direction.
