Med de fabriker som inte fyller kraven bryts affärerna, i andra följer man upp förbättringsarbete som behöver göras. Så agerar ett företag som vill ta ansvar"

Ansvar, vilket ansvar? Det enda ansvar de har är att göra en fet vinst och ge oss billiga grejor! Och det säger sig själv att vuxna arbetare är både dyrare och jobbigare att ha att göra med än barnarbetare. De strejkar ju och svänger sig med svåra ord som "Corporate Social Responsibility" och ska ha lön och sånt.

Poängen var ju istället att fly långt bort från miljökrav, höga skatter och jobbiga fackföreningsmaffiosos och låta kinesiska slavarbetare göra jobbet för en spottstyver (då är diktatur en klar fördel) och sen låta vinsterna åka på semester till lämpligt skatteparadis med mutade kinesiska tjänstemäns goda minne.

"Tänk om allt vore så bra som Johan Norberg skriver på SvD Brännpunkt 25/11 (”76000 färre fattiga varje dag”). Världen blir allt rikare, färre dör i förtid och miljöproblemen löser sig bara vi blir ännu rikare.

Artikeln – som bygger på Norbergs rapport till Globaliseringsrådet – är späckad med statistik, vilket är förrädiskt därför att en del är sant.

Annat är halvsant därför att han har valt ut just sådana fakta eller tidsperioder som passar hans syfte, att likt Voltaires Pangloss försöka övertyga oss att vi lever i den bästa av världar.

Jag läste som vanligt nyliberalen Johan Norbergs nyliberala blogg om "Jonssonaffären" när jag såg något som fick mig att tappa min nyliberala haka;

"Såvitt jag kan se har däremot inte en enda person från vänster skrivit en enda rad om mitt svar till Jonsson - om man inte räknar Kurt G Rantzén, en parodi på en liberal blogg gjord av någon vänsternisse som faktiskt lyckas vara riktigt kul på ett sätt - i olika diskussionforum får han ofta andra vänster- debattörer att tro att han är en verklig liberal, vilket säger allt om deras förutfattade meningar om vad vi tycker. Global Warming Saves Lives!

Johan Norberg: COLD IS THE WORST KILLER:
"The big story in Dagens Nyheter today is that thousands of Swedes will die every year because of higher temperatures. That´s correct, but shouldn´t they also write about the thousands of deaths from cold that will be avoided?

As Bjørn Lomborg points out in his new book Cool it! (now in Swedish) each year 200,000 Europeans die each year because from excess heat, but many more - 1.5 million - die from excess cold. In the UK an increase in temperature by 2 degrees will probably result in another 2,000 deaths from heat, but in 20,000 fewer deaths from cold."

Global warming is a nice bi-product of economic growth and should be seen as a blessing rather than something to fear! I mean who doesnt want a warmer climate?

In these cold wintry times im sure a lot of scandinavians would welcome a little global warming and think about how it would prevent a lot of broken bones in the ski slopes, frozen fingers plus lower heating costs!

Är globalisering bra eller dåligt? Det har globaliseringsrådet frågat sig fem gånger under ett halvår, tills de gav upp och istället lät min guru, den högst opartiske globaliseringsexperten Johan Norberg ta över och göra en "fair and balanced(pdf)" uppskattning av läget.

Globaliseringsrådet (dvs Johan Norberg) har kommit fram till att globalisering är skitbra och kommer att göra, bara vi håller vår konsumtion uppe och utflyttning av företag till u-länder, att dessa u-länder snart att ha lika hög BNP och konsumera lika mycket som vi gör i väst, utan att vi här på något sätt behöver göra avkall på våra allt mer luxiösa vanor.

Ökad BNP är naturligtvis den indikator man ska använda när man mäter fattigdomsminskning, det ser man ju i USA och Kina där alla numera är rika och fattigdom inte längre existerar.

Globalisering leder till avregleringar av ekonomin - att den sen inte leder till ökad demokrati kan man strunta i eftersom folk i allmänhet tror att "a free market" är detsamma som ett fritt demokratiskt samhälle. Och får man ändå frågan kan man ju alltid säga att det tar lite tid innan de positiva effekterna slår igenom (100 år ungefär)

Och eftersom jorden har outsinliga naturresureser, kommer priset på dessa råvaror bara minska i takt med att utvinningen av uran, kol, olja och mineraler, skogsavverkning och efterfrågan på dessa ökar.

Så att oroa sig för att naturesurser ska ta slut, "peak oil" eller att öknar skulle breda ut sig där det tidigare var regnskog är bara fånig alarmism.

Sen är det viktigt att underklassen vänjer sig att bli mer "flexibla" med sin anställningstrygghet och mer "anpassningsbara" till en ökad lönekonkurrens med u-länder.

So how come there is growing economic inequality in the US?

But Facts are ...

Johan Norberg denies that there is growing poverty in the US and says that people who claim there is are paranoid and part of the problem.

And I couldnt agree more. Its the people claiming that globalization would somehow increase income gaps and economical inequality that are making people poorer, not neoliberal free trade, and these critics should be arrested and sent to Gitmo! It should be criminal to criticize neo-liberal globalization!

People saying things like these;

"The percentage of poor Americans who are living in severe poverty has reached a 32-year high, millions of working Americans are falling closer to the poverty line and the gulf between the nation's "haves" and "have-nots" continues to widen.

A McClatchy Newspapers analysis of the 2005 census figures, the latest available, found that nearly 16 million Americans are living in deep or severe poverty. A family of four with two children and an annual income of less than $9,903 - half the federal poverty line - was considered severely poor in 2005. So were individuals who made less than $5,080 a year.

He also calls it "trade union agitation". Yes trade unions are bad and destroying free trade, just look how bad the Swedish economy has suffered because of strong trade unions under the socialdemocrats and trade unions will surely destroy the Chinese economy as well, despite all attempts to fight it.

Multinational corporations are the ones who should decide how much they want to pay in salary, not the workers, the state or any silly human rights activists!

Workers organized in terrorist "unions" are hurting the profit of these multinationals and also my personal investments making my stocks fall.

So Johan Norberg and Dick Cheney are right in lobbying against trade unions and "fair trade" just as right as with global warming...

Freedom Index is Good!

I wrote earlier about the Heritage Foundations "Freedom Index" but i thought i´d´take another look at it since it seem to be the central of all things neoliberal.

There was particularly two "Freedoms" that caught my attention;
"Freedom from Government" and "Labor Freedom".

Here is the "Freedom from Government" Top 8;

7. Hong Kong

And the "Labor Freedom" Top 8;

All extremely "free" countries indeed!

When I clicked through these links I couldnt help to notice that the names of the links didnt match the names of the particular "Freedom" so for example clicking on "Fiscal Freedom" it said "Fiscal Burden" and so on.

Here is the list;
Business Freedom = Regulation
Fiscal Freedom = Fiscal Burden
Freedom from Government = Government Intervention
Monetary Freedom = Monetary Policy
Investment Freedom = Foreign Investment
Financial Freedom = Banking
Labor Freedom = Wages and Prices
Freedom from Corruption = Informal Market

And I thought that was strange...
Corruption is called "Informal Market". Now the wikipedia definition of "Informal Market" is the following;

Informal market

"In economics, the term informal economy refers to the general market income category (or sector) wherein certain types of income and the means of their generation are "unregulated by the institutions of society, in a legal and social environment in which similar activities are regulated."

Simply put, it is economic activity that is neither taxed nor monitored by a government; and is not included in that government's Gross National Product (GNP); as opposed to a formal economy"

Now since the Heritage Foundation only seem to define the lack of laws and regulations imposed on foreign investment by a elected or nonelected government a "freedom", then the very idea of democratic freedom, as in an elected government, is completely irrelevant.

The democratic status of a nation is of no interest, what is interesting is the freedom from "Government Intervention" in your "Foreign Investment" and the ideal "Freedom from Government" would be an "Informal Market" because it completely free from "Government Intervention"

So as i´ve said before corruption is good! Now where can I find the biggest "informal markets" in the world?

"In transition countries by far the largest informal economy was in Georgia with 67.3%"

Now what a coincidence thats number one in the world in "Labor Freedom"

And a statment about China I found interesting was this;

"The informal market must be allowed to flourish, he said. Returns in the informal market are high versus low in the formal sector. This explains why, despite Chinas poor legal and financial structures, it has sustained growth. Informal financing and government arrangements are effective. The fact is that agreements work under the common goal of profit sharing.

So what the World Bank manager of finance actually says to the chinese government is "dont mess with the Hong Kong money laundering operations".

Another country with very big shadow economy is the US;

As a cash crop, marijuana is believed to have outstripped maize, and hardcore porn revenue is equal to Hollywood's domestic box office takings."

Corruption is good! The bad news is that the chinese government is trying to fight it as well as now is calling for a fairer, greener economy...

Update; I saw that Sweden is number one in paying bribes in the world

Apropå Johan Norberg så lyssnade jag på en intervju där den Heritage Foundation-hyllade nyliberale hjälten målade upp den sköna nya världen som kommer att infinna sig så snart kapitalismen nått varenda lilla hörn av världen och varje sandkorn och vattenmolekyl på jorden är privatiserad. Han fick också några tuffa frågor som han tacklade på ett underbart magiskt sätt;

“It is correct that the wealth of the world is very unevenly distributed… the reason why it is unevenly distributed is that there is an uneven distribution of capitalism [..] The problem of the world today is too little globalization and too little capitalism.”

Det är ju bara att se på USA, kapitalismens Mecka. Där är ju klyftorna avsevärt mycket mindre än i socialistiska länder som Kuba.

Men i Kina däremot, där minskar ju de ekonomiska klyftorna i takt med frihandelns frihetskorståg drar över världen...

I must commend ExxonMobil for their hard work and financial support to organizations like Atlas Economic Research Foundation, who awarded Johan Norberg the distinguished Antony Fisher International Memorial Award for "Defense of Global Capitalism", as well as their generous donations to the Cato intitute who is publishing it in the US.

They also makes valuble finacial contributions to the Heritage Foundation, who publishes works of JohnnyMunkhammar .

Not to mention their loyal support of George Bush and the republican party in a crucial election and their valuble contributions to scientific research countering extremist leftist propaganda.

Im happy to see that swedish thinktanks like Timbro, Captus and publications like NEO are spreading the truth to the swedish population

Bribes are Good!

I dont understand why completely normal business arrangement are considered illegal? The state shouldnt dictate how to run a business, that is best kept in the hands of the corporations themselves.

This is clearly an attack on free enterprise!

And as Johan Norberg points out corporations can be trusted a lot more than governments;
"... an Edelman survey of 3 100 opinion leaders in 18 countries show that corporations gain in popularity and that businesses are now more trusted than governments in every continent."

Although the quoted PR firm Edelman actually said;

"The survey of 3,100 "opinion leaders" in 18 countries by the public relations firm Edelman suggests that corporate governance reforms and the rising wealth of individuals in many developing nations are helping the corporate sector to improve its credibility."

Johan Norberg also fails to mention that;
"NGOs (non-governmental organisations) beat business to the top spot in North America and Europe, with most respondents ranking them as the most trusted institution"

Which is very good news for oilfunded thinktanks who shaped the successful oil liberation in Iraq and organizations of scientists who tell the truth about the nonexistent "climate change".
