"I simply list some of the geotechnical measures that

are under discussion to give members an impression of the active measures that may be possible to counterbalance the global warming effects of greenhouse gas emissions:

1. Adding aerosols to the stratosphere (sulfate, soot, dust, metallic particles).
2. Placing balloons or mirrors in the stratosphere.
3. Making deserts more reflective.
4. Modifying the ocean albedo.
5. Fertilizing the ocean to increase CO2 uptake.
6. High altitude nuclear explosions to induce a nuclear “spring”.
